Opened in 1952, my grandfather, Josef DeMuzio opened a small ice cream parlor in the center of Rockingham Village in Bellows Falls, Vermont. We have gone from a tiny building with only a drive-up window to a good size operation with two dining rooms and two windows where customers can order their special treats or scrumptious foods.
Run by the DeMuzio family, Dari Joy has been a staple in Bellows Falls for over fifty years. Founder, Josef DeMuzio, and his son, Richard DeMuzio, open the Dari Joy every spring to bring guests their favorite kinds of ice cream and quick-service foods. With the help of Richard’s children, Mallory (myself), and my brother Philip, we help to keep the family tradition alive.
Our ice cream parlor includes soft and hard serve ice cream, shakes, smoothies, sundaes, razzles, and many other concoctions that we come up with. Our food menu consists of chicken fingers, French fries, onion rings, hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, etc.
While we may be closing in a short two weeks, Dari Joy is already focusing on next season and seeing how we can reach our customers through the use of the Internet. Our contest will begin the day we open next April and go through to July. So what is it you have to do? During your visits next season, make sure to take a bunch of pictures of your family and children eating ice cream while visiting us. Submit your favorite pictures to our blog and the most creative ones will win an assortment of prizes from gift certificates, t-shirts, cash prizes, and many more.
Our hope is to build a stronger presence for Dari Joy online and broaden our reach of advertisement. We also feel this is a fun way to get the family excited about visiting us and making an experience out of eating at our restaurant. So get your cameras ready because next season we are looking for you to give us more pictures to hang up on our wall of fame!
(This is only a test. This contest has not been set-up as of yet. Please do not submit pictures to this blog.)
